Hello friends! I am so excited to tell you a little bit about Amy. I've not met her in person, but we have connected through this site. Her mom, Carolyn, and my mom, the amazing Shirl, are close friends. Upon visiting our little website, Carolyn knew Amy, Anne and I were creative soul sisters who should connect.
You see, Amy has a tradition at her house. She keeps a basket of river rocks, paints, and brushes (displayed beautifully, btw) on her kitchen table. Whoever visits her home is invited to paint a rock. They sit and talk and paint together. The rocks are kept on display, encouraging conversation and are a testimony to happy memories and shared creativity. According to Amy, her children's friends sit and paint for hours talking and sharing-phones forgotten, connections made. I can't express how much I love this! I'm secretly a tiny bit envious that I didn't think of it myself. Amy, you are a wise and wonderful creative soul.
This is exactly what Evening Street Studios was created to do- connect people who create joy in the ordinary moments of life, who seek beauty in the everyday and who believe shared creativity is a beautiful unifier in this divided world. It makes my heart so incredibly happy that we are beginning to bring people together and form new connections.
Thank you, Amy, for generously allowing us to share your idea. Paint away friends!
Have a beautiful day!
